Maharashtra has a number of delightful sea-side resorts.
Very pleasant feature of these beaches is the fact that they live essentially
safe waters, the deep drop coastline does not occur dangerously close to the
shore. The sea is serene in most of the beaches that dot the 720 km. Long
coastline of the state.
This long coast along Arabian Sea extends from Dahanu -
Bordi in the north up to Goa, proceeding southwards, Maharashtra State is the
only State in India that offers a vast choice of majestic forts like
Sindhudurg, Vijaydurg, Murud-Janjira, Vasai etc. along its long coast line. All
the sea-beaches are conveniently linked to Mumbai - a good and ideal starting
point and well connected by State Transport buses. The coastal climate of
Maharashtra makes travelling pleasant all-round the year. Seas are rough only
during the Monsoon, between June and September.
